Memorial Event

Dear Friends

I would very much like to share with you all a moment of remembrance and give you all a chance to say goodbye to Mitch and pay your respects so I am organizing a memorial event at the gallery in Vence in 13 rue de l’Evêché, on Saturday the 30th of November. Mitch loved being in his studio painting so I feel this is the best place to celebrate his life and his achievements as an artist and to remember him as a friend, teacher, father and husband. It will be an all day event for people to drop by when they can between 11am and 5pm.

I hope many of you will be able to join me and our two boys on this day.

Hanna

  1. Never knew Mitch and never had the pleasure of meeting him. I got to know him briefly through the APV films trailer of his painting DVD. I would just like to pay my respects at his untimely passing. To his family and friends my deepest sympathy.

  2. Hanna, I was so sorry to hear of Mitch’s passing. I spent a week with you several years ago and his teaching revolutionised my painting. It came across that it was so important to him that I improved. This has stayed with me when I am teaching in the hospital. One of the best weeks I have ever had. I wish you and your family great strength at this time, Alan

  3. My condolences Hanna & the two boys for the passing of Mitch
Never knew Mitch but watched him as a competitor over the years. He looked good. I know his job path wasn’t an easy one but I hope it brought him joy, as his paintings will continue to bring joy to those who look at them. As a teacher, he probably touched the lives of many. I wish you three peace in your grief. Adam

I like many others met Mitch through his painting DVD – how wonderful technology can be. I can only comment that his gentle nature came through in his passion and enthusiasm whilst demonstrating his approach to his art – I express my sincere condolences to you Hanna and the two sons and may God be with you in the days and months ahead.

  5. Had just looked up page having just watched Mitch’s DVD and tried to paint along and was inspired enough to look up his painting courses. So sorry to read that he has passed away, the more so at such a relatively young age and with so much still to give. Please accept my sincere
condolences to you and your children, Gina

  6. oh Hanna, I am so sorry – I had kept a bookmark on this page, thinking I would sign up for a painting holiday this year, but had no idea that Mitch had been ill and passed away. I only spent one week with you in La Colle sur Loup but never forgot the experience – your excellent catering and Mitch’s brilliant teaching method, never criticising, but encouraging us to find out for ourselves what we had done wrong. I hold you in my heart, you and your two little boys, Mitch and his skills, energy and audacity (I will never forget him throwing a jar of water over a painting he’d just done in the street).
